Across the DFW Metroplex, shelters and animal welfare organizations often face overwhelming demand and limited resources. When systems are strained, animals can experience longer shelter stays, higher medical risk, and fewer pathways to adoption or reunification. Common areas of need include: 
 

• Increasing shelter capacity and support to improve intake management, staffing, and safe housing. 

• Providing medical and behavioral care that helps animals become and stay healthy. 

• Improving access to humane education that builds responsible pet ownership and compassion in the community. 

• Keeping pets with families through resources that reduce surrender risk (food assistance, basic supplies, care navigation). 

• Helping lost pets return home and supporting temporary care when natural disasters impact animals and owners.
